Photo: Laila Pozzo LEONARDO SINI CONDUCTOR Leonardo Sini began his musical studies at the L. Canepa Conservatory in Sassari where he graduated in trumpet. He perfected his skills at the Royal Academy of Music in London where he obtained a Master of Art. He moved to Holland where he continued his studies in Orchestral Conducting with Jac van Steen, Ed Spanjaard and Kenneth Montgomery in the National Master of Orchestral Conducting Programme and won the First Absolute Prize in the prestigious Maestro Solti Competition in Budapest. He made his professional debut in the 2019 season at Budapest Opera House with Puccini's Le Villi and Messa di Gloria. He made his debut in Circuito di Opera Lombardia (Como, Brescia, Bergamo, Pavia, Cremona) with La Sonnambula; continued with the Inauguration of Teatro Petruzzelli conducting Un Ballo in Maschera; and debuted in La Bohème at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa. He appeared at MaggioMusicale Fiorentino conducting La Traviata. Among his engagements in the 2024/25 season: Le Nozze di Figaro at Teatro Regio in Turin and in Liège, Stiffelio in Verona, Il Cappello di paglia di Firenze at Opera Wallonie in Liège, and Il Barbiere di Siviglia and L’Elisir d’amore at Wiener Staatsoper in Vienna. In recent seasons he conducted numerous operas by Verdi, Puccini and Donizetti in Hamburg, Berlin, Liège, Seoul, Budapest, Zurich, Tokyo, Hannover, Dresden, Paris, Sydney and many more. This is his first appearance with the Israel Philharmonic
