She graduated from the vocal and musicology departments of the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at the class of Prof. Tamar Rachum-Roth with whom she studies nowadays. Rona’s extensive operatic repertoire includes roles such as Suzuki (Madame Butterfly), Filippyevna (Yevgeni Onegin), Baba (The Medium), La zia principessa (Suor Angelica), and Mother Jeanne (Dialogues des Carmélites). As a soloist, Rona performed in “Alto Rhapsody”, “Elias”, “Les nuits d’été”, “RückertLieder” and “Kindertotenlieder”, Gloria (Vivaldi), “Stabat Matar” (Pergolesi) and more. Rona also performed in the Common Ground Voices project, initiated by the Eric Ericson International Choral Center, devoted to the creation of an international choir consisting of groups from various countries and religions. Rona was named the winner of the Aviv Competitions and was a finalist at Vincero International Competition. Rona has been awarded fellowships and scholarships by the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, Ronen Foundation andmore. This is her first appearance with the Israel Philharmonic. SHIRIT LEE WEISS DIRECTOR Born in Israel, Shirit LeeWeiss is the artistic director of the Meitar Opera Studio where she directed many productions including Don Giovanni, La clemenza di Tito (Mozart), Suor Angelica (Puccini) and others. She directs operas and musicals for most orchestras, academies and festivals in Israel. Shirit Lee Weiss directed Candide (Bernstein) for the Israel Philharmonic, Pierrot Lunaire (Schoenberg), Songs for Amalia and themusicals Greta and the Race to Space, Goldi Bras and Messiah Now. At the Israeli Opera she directed TheMedium (Menotti), Duke Bluebird's Castle (Bartók), Die Entführung aus dem Serail (Mozart), for the Akko festival, Mothers (Sebba), and What About the Deer? She also created the productions of the Mozart Requiem and Hanoch Levin – The Opera.
