Yeshaayahu (Shaya) was born in 1994 in Jerusalem. He began his musical education at the age of 4 at the Jerusalem Conservatory. During his studies at the Highschool by the Jerusalem Academy for Music and Dance, he was accepted to the Jerusalem Academy through a special program and began playing the viola. Yeshaayahu participated in numerous masterclasses in Israel and abroad, as well as chamber music programs and orchestral collaborations in Europe and in the US. During his studies he received scholarships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation. Yeshaayahu completed his bachelor’s degree with honors and was drafted to the IDF as an Outstanding Musician. While serving in the army, he won an audition to the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, joining them upon the completion of his service as a full time member. Thus he began his professional path, which led him to the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion (house orchestra of the Israel Opera) and subsequently, in 2022, to a permanent position in the Viola section of the IPO. In his free time Shaya enjoys writing arrangements and orchestrations, playing soccer, baking bread and computer programming.
