At what age did you begin playing a musical instrument?
I started playing the violin when I was 6 years old, and since I was 23 I started playing the viola and that is really my favorite instrument.

At what age did you understand that you wish to pursue a musical career?
When I was 13 I’ve decided that in my future I will play in a symphonic orchestra.

Name an unforgettable moment with the IPO
The performance of Mahler’s third symphony during our last festivals tour with Zubin Mehta. His tears… until this day I can’t forget them..

What is the special significance of the IPO to you/Why did you want to be part of the IPO?
Playing with the IPO was my dream since I watched its live broadcast from Moscow in 1990, even before I made an Aliya. In 2002 I have found myself on that same stage in Moscow, this time as a member of the IPO, and I must say my excitement was unmeasurable.

How can we keep classical music and live performances relevant in the digital era?
In the digital era, like in old times, we must give our audience the most exciting experience we can, and this type of experience is impossible to get with headphones in front of a screen. I’m talking about the quality, the visibility, the experience pre-concert, and the interaction between the musicians and the audience. It’s about the special substance, both musical and everything around the performance itself, which needs to create unique one-time type of energies.
