Originally an electric bass player, Omri Weinberger made the switch to the “acoustic” bass in order to satisfy his urge to play Jazz.
He studied the double bass with Teddy Kling, the Israel Philharmonic’s former principal, and continued his studies in Berlin with former principal bass of the Berlin Philharmonic, Reiner Zeperitz. He then followed Reiner Zeperitz to Spain for additional three years of studies.
Upon returning to Germany, he studied with Prof. Martin Dobner in Mainz. Omri Weinberger joined the Israel Philharmonic in 2007.
