Gilad Rivkin started playing the violin at the age of 6 in the Jerusalem Conservatory and later joined the Young Israel Philharmonic and the Jerusalem High School Academy Orchestra as concertmaster. He began his musical studies with Sophia Pikovsky and later studied with her daughter, Israel Philharmonic violinist Yevgenia Pikovsky.
Gilad Rivkin was the recipient of America-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarships between 2006-13 and served in the IDF as an Outstanding Musician.
Three weeks after completing his military service, he was accepted to the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and four years later, in 2016, he joined the Israel Philharmonic.
