At what age did you begin playing a musical instrument?
I started playing when I was 6 years old

At what age did you understand that you wish to pursue a musical career?
It was clear to me from day one that I will have a musical career. I think that even beforehand it was clear in my unconscious that I will do that.

Name an unforgettable moment with the IPO
Since I knew the orchestra already as a young girl, when I joined my father on the tours abroad, one of the memories I have is from Japan. In this tour with Leonard Bernstein (1983), after the concert was over and the musicians were on the buses about to go back to the hotel, there was a long line of people from the audience (hundreds of meters along the road), and they all stood there and clapped enthusiastically for the orchestra. As a sign of thank you, the musicians were waving back to them from the windows of the buses. It was extremely touching.
Another nice memory from the time I was already a member of the orchestra, was from a concert in Spain with Zubin Mehta. We were playing Dvorak’s 7th symphony until suddenly, in the beginning of the third movement the power went off, the entire hall was dark but the musicians kept playing for a while… until the lights were back on.

Which kind of music would we find on your playlist?
I like listening to jazz and similar genres. I also add some non-classical music to the “absence” of these genres, with some old Israeli songs.

What is the special significance of the IPO to you/Why did you want to be part of the IPO?
The IPO is literally a part of my family. My father Wolfgang, as well as my brother Amnon were a part of the orchestra playing the violins. It was very natural that I would keep the tradition.
