Born in 1989 in South Korea, Benjamin Cho studied at the University of Arts of South Korea. In 2009 he made his debut as Papageno in Mozart’s The Magic Flute at the Seoul Arts Center. He then attended the Music Academy of Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence. He has appeared at Teatro dell’Opera in Florence, Teatro Regio in Turin, Teatro Comunale in Piacenza, Rome Opera, Teatro Galli in Rimini and many more, as well as at the Edinburgh and Wexford festivals. His awards include the first prize at the 2020 Maria Caniglia International Competition and the Toti Dal Monte Prize. He has also appeared in concerts in Italy and South Korea, including a concert celebrating 130 years of diplomatic relationships between Italy and Korea at the Seoul Arts Center. This is his first appearance with the Israel Philharmonic.
