Alexander Dobrinsky

Alexander “Sacha” Dobrinsky was born in St. Petersberg.
At the age of 14, he moved to Moscow in order to study at the Central Music School of the Moscow Conservatory. At the age of 18, he was accepted to the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in the class of Stalin Prize recipient Igor Bisrodnei.
After graduating, he served in the Red Army for one year and then joined the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra conducted by Veronika Dodarava.
In 1990, he brought his wife and two sons to Israel, where he joined the Israel Philharmonic.
His son, Shlomy, is an accomplished violinist, a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and assistant Concertmaster of the Philharmonia Orchestra.
