Born in Jerusalem, Gad Lederman started his musical education studying recorders and guitar with Naomi Miron. At the age of 13 he began studying the bassoon, first with Prof. Jimmy Reynolds and later with Richard Paley. He continued his studies with Walter Meroz and Mordechai Rechtman at the Tel Aviv Music Academy, Tel Aviv University, as well as with Prof. Klaus Thunemann at the Hannover Hochschule für Musik.
He is a recipient of America-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarships and has participated in educational activities of leading Israeli music education organizations, including MATAN, the Young Israel Philharmonic and the Jerusalem Music Center.
He has served as Principal Bassoonist of the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion and the Israel Camerata Jerusalem, with which he has also appeared as soloist.
Gad Lederman has played with many orchestras in Israel and Europe, participated in festivals and recordings and performed chamber music.
He is on the faculty of the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, Tel Aviv University, and a member of the New Israeli Ensemble.
