Victor Sicard

The young baritone Victor Sicard, born in La Rochelle in 1987, seems to have everything for himself. He has captured international attention since his participation in William Christie’s sixth Jardin des Voix, which led him to do an international tour with the Arts Florissants Orchestra.

He has had the opportunity to work with the best international ensembles, first by continuing his collaboration with Les Arts Florissants and William Christie but also with Le Concert d’Astrée and Emmanuelle Haïm, Le Concert Spirituel and Hervé Niquet, the Ensemble Aedes and Mathieu Romano, Le Poème Harmonique and Vincent Dumestre and Matheus Ensemble with Jean Christophe Spinosi.

His operatic repertoire includes the roles of Adario in Les Indes Galantes (Rameau) in Washington and New York, Tisiphone in Amour et Psyché (Mondonville) at the Operas of Dijon, Lille, Luxembourg and Caen, Apollon in La descente d’Orphée aux enfers (Charpentier), Yamadori in Madame Butterfly (Puccini) at the Operas of Limoges and Rouen, Dr Falke in Die Fledermaus at the Staatstheater Linz (Austria), Aeneas in Dido and Aeneas with Les Arts Florissants, Clock and Cat in L’Enfant et les sortilèges for Glyndebourne Opera Festival, Enfant fantôme in Coraline (Turnage) in the Operas of Lille, Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Britten) at the Barbican,…
