Yevgeny Yehudin, Principal Clarinetist of the Israel Philharmonic since 2002, was born into a musical family.
He studied piano and clarinet at the Minsk Academy and while still a student, was twice awarded first prize at the Belarus National Competition. In 1990 he immigrated to Israel and studied at the Rubin Music Academy, Tel Aviv University.
In 1992 he joined the Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva as Principal Clarinetist and later became head of its wind section. In 1994 he won the François Shapira Prize.
As a chamber musician he has played with renowned artists such as Martha Argerich, Yuri Bashmet, Nabuko Imai, Elena Bashkirova, Guy Braunstein, Gary Hoffman, Steven Kovacevic, the Ysaye String Quartet and the Jerusalem String Quartet. He is also a member of the Israel Woodwind Quintet.
His festival appearances include the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival, the Gaia Chamber Music Festival and Rolandseck.
He teaches at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, Tel Aviv University.
Yevgeny Yehudin has recorded for radio in Israel and abroad as well as for several CDs. He has appeared as soloist with the Israel Philharmonic and the Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva.
