Born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in 1963, Felix Nemirovsky started playing cello and piano at the age of 6 at the Uspensky School for gifted children. He studied with Vladimir Pover and later with Victor Simon at the Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow.
At the age of 22 he moved to Moldavia, where he became Principal Cellist of the Moldavian Opera Theater and of the Moldavian Radio Chamber Orchestra.
In 1990, he immigrated to Israel with his family and joined first the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion Orchestra and later the Camerata of Rehovot under Avner Biron.
In 1992 he joined the Israel Philharmonic.
An active chamber musician, he is a founding member of the Tel Aviv Chamber Ensemble and a member of the Toscanini String Quartet.
In concerts of the Israel Philharmonic Chamber Series he has played with Maxim Vengerov, Gil Shaham, Yefim Bronfman, Emanuel Ax and Sayaka Shoji.
He frequently performs with his wife, pianist Alexandra Nemirovsky.
