Born in 1967 in Moscow, Evgenia Oren studied first at the Moscow Conservatory and subsequently at the Tel Aviv Rubin Music Academy following her immigration to Israel in 1991. In 1993 she joined the Israel Philharmonic.
She performs with various chamber ensembles and has played chamber music in festivals in Israel and abroad, including Tanglewood in the USA, in Moscow with Gil Shaham, Yuri Bashmet, Paul Merlin, Julian Rachlin and others. She has also appeared in Israel, Germany, France, Brazil, Russia, England and Canada.
Evgenia Oren is a member of the Philharmonic String Sextet and Shesh Besh – the Arab-Israeli Ensemble, among others.
In 2002-03 she was guest professor at the University of Manitoba’s school of music, where she was head of the viola department and chamber music coach. Evgenia played with the Polejenia Trio.
