Michal Mossek

Michal Mossek began her horn studies at the age of 12 and graduated from IASA (Israeli Art and Sciences Academy) in Jerusalem and has a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and History.
In 1992, with the help of America-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarships received between 1987-97, she studied with Dale Clevenger, former Principal Hornist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. During her studies, she performed with the Chicago Civic Orchestra.
After serving in the IDF as an Outstanding Musician, she served as Assistant Principal Hornist with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra (1995-2003). In 2007 she was Assistant Principal Hornist with the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion.
An additional scholarship from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation enabled her to return to her studies at Indiana University Bloomington.
She has played with many of the major Israeli orchestras. Michal Mossek has performed in music festivals in Israel, Switzerland and USA, and participated in the West-Eastern Divan workshops led by Daniel Barenboim. She joined the Israel Philharmonic in 2007.
